Getting started on a PCOS friendly diet for me was immediate. As soon as I decided I wanted to go gluten and dairy free, my family and I went out for "the last supper" and than the next day I cut it all out. Some people like to slowly go into and start by cutting out a thing here and there or just cutting gluten and than eventually dairy. For me I cut it all out, I went to the extreme, figuring in the long run if I wanted to add some things back in that I could. One tip I would give if you are going to do this is to have an accountability partner. At school it was my roommate and at home it is my dad and together we eat about the same meals every day to make sure we are eating what is considered "Tori friendly." It is super hard when after a long day when your tired and just want to make some ramen noodles and have a glass of wine and watch Netflix until you fall asleep. Although the wine and ramen are not good, binging on Netflix is never a bad thing. Since going immediately gluten and dairy free and limiting my sugar intake I lost 16 pounds in the first 3 1/2 months. Its important to know that everyones PCOS journey is completely different but although different there is a community of supporters out there who have your back. Feel free to ask any questions about getting started!!!
