Cella Crema da Sapone Review
Cella Crema is an Italian tallow based shaving soap. This soap was first made in 1899 in Italy and it is still hand made using the same family recipe.В This pure Italian shaving soap has a bitter almond scent and creates a thick luxurious shaving lather in seconds.
To be honest, i was a little bit shocked and surprised the first time i smelled it. I wasn’t really prepared for the strong, soapy, scent of bitter almond. It was a little bit overpowering when you put your nose directly in the container and take a huge whiff. Fortunately, the smell is much milder and more pleasant when you actually shave with it.
The proper way to load the soap onto your brush is a little bit puzzling. The soap is not a flat, even puck of soap, so water placed on the soap might have a tendency to run off to the sides. I didn’t use any water on the soap. Due to the soft, waxy consistency of the soap, i was able to load the brush just fine.
The lather was very thick, full, and very slippery. The smell was pleasant and not overpowering. There is more than enough lather to do several passes and even use “Kyle’s prep“. Because this soap provides such excellent protection, it would be well paired with a more aggressive blade. I am going to try this soap with a feather blade with my Gillette super speed.
